Grand Mesa Little League | Grand Mesa Baseball & Softball Club | Grand Mesa Babe Ruth
Chris Riley is a youth baseball leader and community advocate based in Grand Junction, Colorado. He currently serves as President of Grand Mesa Little League, Grand Mesa Baseball & Softball Club, and Grand Mesa Babe Ruth, where he has led a period of record growth, revitalization, and community impact across all divisions of youth baseball and softball.
Under Riley’s leadership, Grand Mesa has modernized its facilities and expanded opportunities for players of all ages. He directed the realignment of league boundaries to reflect Grand Mesa’s historical roots, and spearheaded major infrastructure improvements—including a new backstop on Field 2, a remodeled concession stand and Shirt Shack, upgraded board and community room, the addition of a safe, well-lit playground, and the restoration and lighting of community batting cages—enhancing the overall youth sports experience in Grand Junction.
Riley has also revitalized competitive programming and tournament play at Grand Mesa. In 2020, amid widespread sports shutdowns, he founded the Grand Mesa High School Baseball League, giving more than 100 local athletes a free opportunity to compete when their seasons were canceled.
Since 2021, Riley has served as Head Coach of the Grand Mesa Senior All-Star Team, guiding the program to four Colorado State Championships, including the 2025 title. That same year, he was named Grand Mesa Baseball Coach of the Year for his leadership, mentorship, and dedication to player development.
Riley also founded the Play It Forward program, which collects donated and grant-funded baseball and softball equipment for players in need. To date, the program has distributed over $100,000 in gear—including 200+ pairs of cleats, 60+ fielding masks, hundreds of helmets, and dozens of bats and gloves—ensuring every child has access to quality equipment.
In recognition of his commitment to youth sports, Riley was inducted into the Grand Mesa Legacy Garden in 2023. He also serves as Umpire-in-Chief for Colorado District 1 Little League, supporting umpires and volunteer development across the region.
